The 1800s book I mentioned recently that I learned of from reading “Breath” by James Nestor is called: “The Breath of Life, or Mal-respiration and its effects on the Enjoyments & Life of Man by George Catlin - based on interviews of American Indian tribes in 1800s. Their teeth were straight, beautiful and they taught babies to sleep with mouth closed and thru nasal passages. I know Mr Catlin did not use term “bio-mechanics” but I know his book relates to soft mouth tissue that gets distorted by sleeping with mouth open. Fascinating read.

yes ive heard of the book many times over the years but never read it.

ill try to check it out soon.

Note that the soft tissue i talk about does not (in my view) get distorted by sleeping with the mouth open. Rather it gets distorted by curve of spee flattening.

I breathe thru my mouth a fair bit sometimes without noticing the last few yrs.. but dont think it has in any way held back my progress.

Once u see how this soft tissue stretches... i think folks will understand what i mean.

Hey EGK, yes I read in one of your other articles about spee flattening. That also is a fascinating area of this topic. I looked up the Reviv mouthguard and plan to purchase one very soon. Im 63, in great health and figure, but this seems an appliance that has far reaching benefits.

On the book, if you are able to send me your email address to info@marigoldoutpost.com I do plan to scan in the book mentioned. It says on the back cover that this work is in the public domain in the United States of America and within the US, you may freely copy and distribute this culturally important work, as no entity has a copyright on the body of the work So I'll scan and turn it into a pdf book.

It is written / published so long ago that it has that characteristic old book spelling where many of the letter "s" is typed with what looks like an "f". Not sure if I can find a way to edit those out. I had Adobe Creative Suite for years (with Adobe Acrobat Pro) which probably could have used OCR to maybe edit the scans. But just recently ended my subscription to use AI and other apps. I'll give it a spin tho. Once you start the reading your brain kind of helps to pick up the pace, even with the "f"s.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving! Thanks for your excellent writings on Substack.

My myofunctional therapist believes that he had advancement surgery, and that seems plausible to me. I think he looks better overall than when he was in his 20s. He has more pronounced cheekbones but narrow arches with obvious buccal corridors when he smiles. His skull looks broad, but the muscles and skin around his mouth are often turned downward in a dysfunctional pattern. So there are mixed markers that contradict each other, which would be the hallmark of a surgical override.

i dont think his engineering mind would have allowed him to do surgery... have a feeling it was more just a cosmetic dentistry thing.

do i know how to stretch the soft tissue quickly? Yes i do it everyday for nearly 2 years.

But i dont teach this yet.

I think this thing changes the world massively.. and so i am still thinking about how i take it to the world.

c'est vraiment la clé du problème et seul toi tu l'as

The mouthguard fixes things and will continue to improve folks for a long long time.

This thing that i do just makes it faster.

To my knowledge im the only one that knows it.

But if anyone else knows a set of stretches that can get their face and scalp to rip daily while inflating the skull and remodeling the body.. than i dont know of them.

You said you sent one but then said a few discouraging words so I said I would return it but you said to keep it but I never got it.😝

Oh... i think you asked if it can move your bridge.. and as this moves teeth it definitely can. So if you try it than you should do so with that in mind.

In any case i just re-sent you a large and a small.

Give it a try.. let me know how it goes.
