The 1800s book I mentioned recently that I learned of from reading “Breath” by James Nestor is called: “The Breath of Life, or Mal-respiration and its effects on the Enjoyments & Life of Man by George Catlin - based on interviews of American Indian tribes in 1800s. Their teeth were straight, beautiful and they taught babies to sleep with mouth closed and thru nasal passages. I know Mr Catlin did not use term “bio-mechanics” but I know his book relates to soft mouth tissue that gets distorted by sleeping with mouth open. Fascinating read.
