I wish I had known about this before starting my orthodontic treatment. I’m curious—how would this affect someone who recently went through a palatal expander and Invisalign but isn’t satisfied with their jaw’s width? I’m supposed to wear a retainer every night, but I’m considering using Reviv instead. Could this potentially mess up my straight teeth and create gaps?

theoretically things should only expand outwards and will even improve. But depends on how dedicated u are to it.

In the interim there might be gaps, etc.

Your teeth will move to where they 'should' be according to your skull and skeleton. And so my view is its good to do it anyway. Teeth will line up nicely in the end anyway

Can Reviv be worn if I have enlarged mandibular tori? I am a 1970's extractions and orthodontics survivor with a narrow airway, deviated septum, UARS, TMJ and so forth. How Could I contact you to set a time to talk?

hi lets talk on our skool community as it allows me to have all the context in one place.

We give 1 month free trial of our community and it will give u a chance to see how others are progressing. Plus i think there are a number of folks with enlarged tori issues.

To join just make a request here

Hi, Thanks. I ordered the appliance and it is being shipped to me this week. Tonight I plan to attend the newbies meeting on Zoom,as I was sent invite after purchase.

This sounds really interesting. I had my first molar and my premolar removed on the bottom arch and spoke to a dentist offering myobrace. Apparently the asymmetric extraction caused a bunch of gum recession. With this asymmetry and no retainers, will the teeth still align if I start Reviv? Or perhaps the arch will just widen asymmetrically until wisdom teeth.

My view is that even though there is assymetry in terms of number of teeth, things can get symmetric in time as you 'inflate the skull' via the soft tissue.

But a lot of this needs to be tested and verified in the years ahead.

From what im seeing so far.. my gut tells me it will be symmetric eventually. And teeth are a side show to these physics.

Great post Ken which makes it so clear and straightforward how and why Reviv works 🙏👍

Thank you! :)

This article is exactly the topic I was looking for! A friend is considering invisalign for her boys, and is intrigued by using a Reviv mouthguard instead. Does the Myoguard, in your opinion, lead to the same outcome? Or does Reviv have different/better features?

EGK's avatar

Myobrace will work the same.

Its just that the myobrace company focuses mainly on straightening teeth and airway. But this goes a lot deeper than that.

I got aligners just to fix deep bite and close my posterior Open bite but my teeth are already straight, btw my curve is spee hasn’t changed or anything,so if i didn’t wear retainers nor reviv ,is that okay ?

EGK's avatar

if you dont have any issues and feel fine.. then sure.. you are fine.

Do you have any published articles that actually justify the statements you’re making?

EGK's avatar

no, if u want published articles go to a dentist.

If i waited for a dentist to fix me i'd prob be sitting in bed with a neurological disease right now.

Esp after hopping prob 6-7 TMJ dentists in 2014 and having them just screw me up worse.

I'm expressing opinions here based on my experience.

People can choose to wear a mouthguard that is not different from the hundreds that are available on sale on amazon.

10m+ people have tried Mewing. I'm still waiting to see the published peer reviewed paper on that one. Googled and never found it.

Also i find it hilarious when i got to the TMJ subreddit and read thru the stories... story after story of people going to dentists and getting treatments that all have 'published articles'. And yet they are just getting more and more f'd up as the years go on.

Is the composite on the back teeth also known as planas tracks

Planas tracks is what one dentist called it... but i think planas tracks is actually a little bit different and has some other nuances.

My son just does the simple composite, not planas tracks

Do you think they would work the same way as composite or similar..
