I have had neurological issues ever since my muscles shifted due to an ear infection that affected my balance. My last girlfriend who was a PT noticed I had issues with my temporalis muscles beforehand. With my temples being so knotted and strained that it kept the whole rest of my body in balance.

That shift happened and I went from playing chess at a master level, to a beginner because of brain fog, started having "somatic seizures" my eyes misaligned, I had migraines that lasted days on end with little breaks in-between. My balance was so bad I couldn't walk... I was bed bound. It was terrible. I have done tons of things to reach the point of almost better. I came to the conclusion myself that I needed to stick something in-between my back teeth and get something to stretch out. Couldn't ever find the right thing or way to do it. This is so vindicating to see after telling 20+ docs.

wow.. that is a very bad case.

And great intuition on concluding u needed to put something b/w the back teeth!

Did anything happen to your teeth in the years before all this happened? Any ortho or extractions?

Oh boy I can add a lot to this conversation. I have had an interesting experience with dentists. And working with body/health/wellness for 20 years.

I believe it!

Perhaps this is another reason for the yawning instinct; to keep the soft tissues stretched out. But I just don't see how fascia squeezing the bones of the skull could actually put any pressure on the brain to damage it. Give a tension headache for sure, but there is still the subdural space and regulation of intracranial pressure to protect the brain. Maybe it has more to do with squeezing the cranial nerves coming out of the spine.

EGK's avatar

For me this mechanism is a bit of a black box.

I just know that the volume of the skull increases when you improve and decreases when you get worse.

And that when you get worse cranial bones derange...and then come back into symmetry as you improve.

Note that I am careful to just be vague and say 'soft tissue' and not 'fascia' because i do not know exactly what it is and whether it is the fascia or something else.

Note that I refer to it as 'soft tissue' as I'm not really sure what all is changing.

But what i am very confident of is that the skull inflates and deflates based on these biomechanics.

And when they deflate they derange the cranial bones and cognitive and neurological function decline. And when it inflates things start to come back.

I've done that to myself a few times over the years and have seen it happen on many others.

I like to point out that... i approach this more like a startup and with first principles logic. And i have found it more useful to separate myself a bit from the details of the anatomy.

Because i've generally found that i can operate from the level of 'do x and y happens each time.' And the details of what happens as 'y' occurs.. i leave to the medical professionals when one day they begin understanding these biomechanics better.

I think if you went thru this process you'd understand why i disagree.

I do some jaw stretches that ive come up with for a couple hrs per day. The skin of my face and scalp rips on a daily basis as the skull 'expands'. (note volume of skull has increased significantly in last few yrs). Also, skin from my scalp 'rains down'.

This happens daily for over 1.5 yrs. Facial symmetry is improving as i do it.

Plus muscles in various parts of my body release sometimes. Often this release is painful as if the muscle was in spasm for years before hand. This can be in parts of my back, arms, legs, etc.

As this occurs I often have lines on various parts of my body that are clearly not from just laying down etc. As if things are moving around under the skin.

And the body, my limbs all start to remodel.

And note that i've done all this 'till the end' at least once before. And will show u guys what it looks like before & after when im 'done' this time. Hopefully in a few months.

I can study anatomy for hundreds of hours and i guarantee it wont explain this process.

While studying anatomy is undoubtedly valuable, it must be approached with a crucial understanding that anatomical knowledge without appreciation for the body's interconnected nature can actually lead to misguided conclusions.

While the field effectively maps visible structures, it fails to capture the dynamic, living nature of fascia. This tissue system, perhaps our most important yet least understood organ, holds the key to understanding many human diseases.

However, its properties remain elusive precisely because they can't be properly studied in cadavers, where the living, dynamic qualities of fascia are lost.

Moreover, the intimate connection between fascia and muscle represents a unified system that defies the reductionist approach of modern science.

The tendency to separate and categorize these elements as distinct structures, rather than understanding their integrated function, exemplifies how modern scientific methodology, driven by reductionist thinking, has led to significant blind spots in our understanding of human health and disease.

My health has terribly declined after going to an Endodontist and having them scrape out an abscess above two root canals on # 7&8, but leaving the root canal teeth. I basically started having insomnia and extreme malaise, and I developed reoccurring subacute thyroiditis, which has now turned into hyperthyroidism.. I’ve seen a Biological Dentist who wants to remove the root canals and clean them out properly and replace them with a bridge. I’ve suspected steath hidden infection and have had elevated eosinophils and basophils, terrible allergies plague me all Spring long … just wondering if anyone has had anything similar and can help here

That is so interesting, yet not a lot of people are talking about it

I was coming to a similar theory myself after developing a lot of muscle tension and later pain in my face. I had a chipped molar and had been avoiding eating on that side for a few years which caused a muscle imbalance.

I started envisioning a similar product when yours was advertised to me.

Couldn't really use it until after getting that tooth fixed, but after I did this seems to be helping me recover a lot faster than waiting for the imbalance to correct itself. And I haven't started wearing it overnight yet, just an hour or two a day

EGK's avatar

nice.. keep wearing it more!

This reminds me of “Mewing”. Any connection?

EGK's avatar

I know of the Mews since early 2015.

And did some Mewing in 2015-16.

I wrote a post on my differences with the Mews here: https://reviv.substack.com/p/my-take-on-the-mews?utm_source=publication-search

Proxima Centauri's avatar

Same it definitely causes neurological disorders . I has taken away my ability to talk properly . Speak my mind . I go blank while thinking sometimes . Mewing ruined me

Sorry to post this here but I couldn't find another way to contact you.I have not received my order #7067, supposedly shipped in late June. I had been using the earlier Reviv and was noticing some results, but the device was wearing down so I decided to upgrade. Is there a customer service rep I can communicate with?

EGK's avatar

oh yes sorry about that.. please write to us at cs@getreviv.com

I just checked on your order status and it was considered delivered with this tracking https://www.yuntrack.com/parcelTracking?id=YT2517900704627390

Nobody else in the house could have picked it up right?

In any case just confirm on the email to us that you didnt get it and we'll send another.

Hey, I came across this interesting article that I’m not sure if you’ve seen, but it might be related to skull deformation. Honestly, I don’t really get it, but I thought I’d send it your way to see what you think!

one other thing id add is this point that for me there is a clear definition of done.

its not just that im doing these exercises and hoping that i look great one day.

Rather this part right here is the indicator that i used years ago when i did it the first time: https://share.cleanshot.com/l2pYCbrG

When i fully release this tissue in the chin area to the edges of the jaw i will have a pretty much perfect skeleton and skull. That is what happened last time and im very confident the same will happen again because i see it happening little by little for a long time now.

And i literally believe the same rule holds true of any human being.

Also note that it is not 'just' the skin in this chin area that is releasing. My face, scalp and towards the end the skin on various parts of my body also rips up like a bad sunburn.

Which is what led me to this conclusion that this 'soft tissue' covering the body is holding everything out of place like a wetsuit that is crushing your body.

Everything that has happened to me this past ~10 yrs leads to this logical conclusion in my view.

Christina Sophia's avatar

Wow. Just wow. Thanks for defining. Now, what exactly is the Curve of Spee? And what does one need to do besides wear mouth guards to get to being "done"?

I do some exercises that I think stretches my jaw but not for the amount of time you do. They're just facial exercises but I'd like to see what you are doing, learn that. Do you demonstrate that somewhere?

Oh and one more question: what is the specific negative effect(s) of removing the wisdom teeth over time? And how do we fix or reverse those? Thank you!

EGK's avatar

this is curve of spee https://reviv.substack.com/p/the-curve-of-spee

To get to done you need to use mouthguard + stretching (eg. my 'fast method' on skool, thumbpulling, yoga, etc.)

Removing wisdom teeth (or any teeth) wil expedite the collapse of the mouth (and thus the entire skull/skeleton) over time. To reverse u need to do this process.

I view things extremely simple.

A human is always either inflating or deflating.

Inflating fixes everything over enough time. You have no true influence over what the body fixes next. The body decides.

The only thing u have any control on is speed.

Beautiful, thank you for that quick answer! I just listened to your interview on Nutrition Detective - that was great. I hope you'll come back. I'm another one who heard about Reviv from Dr Smith. 🙂

EGK's avatar

If you were to drill a person's upper and lower teeth such that you flattened their curve of spee.. you will see that person physically and neurologically decline pretty fast.

It happened to me, my friend marcello (who went from running marathons with a great body to wheelchair + cervical dystonia within 6 months), and at least 3-4 others that i've known over the years.

Unfortunately it's not a study that would be ethical to carry out.
