You’re right. Chiropractors, massage therapists, osteopaths, yoga experts are useless the bite is addressed. The physics totally works like this. When there’s lack of posterior vertical dimension, the entire jaw moves up and back, as a compensation head moves forward. And it’s impossible to correct it unless the bite is corrected.

i agree and disagree.

you need to address the bite but its not about 'lack of posterior vertical dimension' in my view. Which is why i never describe it that way.

In my view its about curve of spee and stretching soft tissue.

In 2022 i wore a splint on front teeth like nti-tss splint and progressed at the same pace. Because i was still upholding my 2 rules:

1- add vertical

2- no locking occlusion

Also.. almost everyone wearing a Reviv now actually has primary contact on the front teeth and not the back.

For many of them back teeth are probably not even making contact with the appliance and yet they're improving. Because its about vertical.

Yet another banger! 🙌🏼💣🔥💯 It's basic physics!

So much money spent on chiropractics and physical therapy over the years to no avail.

Also I'm hoping to get the tracking splint stuff this weekend, you said that light stretching and massaging pressure points can help restore the curve of spee faster right?

EGK's avatar

yes, it should. Also exercise in general will help expedite.

Brilliant I totally agree 💯👍 the proof of the pudding is in the tasting 😋

Is there any function to the reviv's front teeth area gum shield?

EGK's avatar

in my view it is part of the stretch that the mouthguard creates. it helps engage the face/jaw into the stretch

What about someone with the opposite problem, dental wise? I have an overly exaggerated curve of spee, causing a severe deep bite and my teeth are so close together that they rub and wear down every time I close my mouth. I also have scoliosis and horrible forward head posture that has caused a hunchback. I fully believe it is caused by my jaw misalignment. My back molars don't have enough height and my front teeth overlap so far they touch the bottom gums. I just got the reviv r1 because I'm starting to be worried that I'll break my front teeth while I'm sleeping. I haven't worn it yet, but reading this I'm now worried it might exacerbate my deep bite.

So why did you stop wearing nti - tss splint. If it gave the same progress ?

EGK's avatar

it was far more visible and therefore i couldnt talk with people with it on

whereas i could keep a clipon on the back teeth on just one side just fine and person wouldnt even be able to tell
